i recently bought a cassette of CoAs work from grimestone records and it just arrived today as im typing this. the actual cassette is beautiful, i love when black metal strays from the typical "black" style as the cassette is a transluscent pink and the cover is a pretty pastel pink. the cassette contains the second demo and the summer of the diabolical tänzel release. CoA brings a madness and trickery that just isnt seen typically within black metal. they are a reflection of the impish mischief of hell, dancing plagues, euphoric delirium. each track is a descent into mania with no return.

ive loved this release for quite some time now, i bought it when it first released, so when the physical CD and cassette released, i bought both immediately. lövërliminal offers a beautiful blackgaze sound with touches of depressive rock and post-metal. i cant help but hear the alcest influence, its like discovering their music all over again. both the calm and heavy vocals on the backdrop of dreamy instrumental creates an otherworldly soundscape. hearing this music reminds me of staring up at the glow in the dark stars on your ceiling and becoming lost in it. the physical releases mirror this dreamy soundscape with blurry and flowery visuals.

yet another gorgeous release from alice simmard. this release to me explores a dreamier and otherworldly mindscape, as if rotting in your bed in the dark, and you can see nothing but the dark swirls of your mind above you. that isnt to say your mind is ugly, quite the opposite. your mind is broken yet beautiful, tragically pretty. this release feels like a stifled sob. the melodies are a desperate cry that has given up. the screams and "sweet" vocals are dichotomic portrayals of the self. these vocals are a staple in coffret de bijoux's music and to me they represent two parts of the self; different yet still of the same self. i appreciate this release for portraying something more "bedroom" (that is, the image of becoming lost in your own mind).
